Awhona (Nina) Sanyal, MA, LPC 

Nina is a Licensed Professional Counselor who practices out of the Biltmore location. She holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Arizona University. 

 

Nina's approach is rooted in compassion, empathy, and acceptance. She works with both individuals as well as couples. She specializes in working with women and the BIPOC community, especially those with multicultural identities (immigrants, first generation, multilingual, etc.). Nina has experience working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, family of origin issues, grief, and attachment issues.

 

Nina has received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Therapy, Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). When working with couples, Nina uses her completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. Additionally, she uses attachment-based approaches in her work with couples.

Nina provides services out of the Phoenix (Biltmore) office, which is close to both Scottsdale and Tempe.
